Official: Blackwater's Iraq deal not to be renewed

The State Department will not renew Blackwater Worldwide's contract to protect American diplomats in Iraq when it expires in May, a senior U.S. official said Friday. The official told The Associated Press that the contract will lapse because of the Iraqi government's decision to deny Blackwater a license to operate. Full Story »

The demise of the Republican privatized corporation to which Bush outsourced war is an interesting story. The background is a little scanty and defensive of Blackwater here.

Blackwater 's been running around Iraq like they lived in the Old west..Killing people just for not getting out of the way.Theses guys are just deviant;s who where thrown out of the military and are just to damn crazy to hold a normal job.They should be prosecuted.

Great story. Full of quotes and sources. Very informative and plenty of context. It is great to get a direct quote from Erik Prince, the man behind blackwater. Well written story and fairly balanced. Although we never hear the voices of the Iraqis themselves. Is it that hard to get a quote from someone that is there?
