The official UN report on the Israeli assassination of Gaza flotilla protesters is presented. This is good reporting in that it speaks truth to the powers in the US government that toady to the extreme militarists in command of Israeli policy, those powers who have been hiding the report and evidence.

Neither Turkey nor Israel deserve any benefit of the doubt historically speaking. Israelis won't tell you anything they don't have to and can justify nearly anything. The Turks will lie or deny evidence exists or manufacture it even when the proof against them is absolute.

Gareth Porter shows why is is regarded highly in his reporting on the Middle East. At least, highly regarded by those wanting to know what really is going on.

Israel needs to end the blockade of Gaza. The murderous attack on the aid ship should be given the highest continuing publicity possible.

I think we tend to rate a story by its considering coherence, our existing view of the author's competence, credibility and objectivity, whenever we have familiarity with his/her work, as well as available corroborating extrinsic information we bring to the story. On all counts, this report is persuasive. I've always found Gareth's reporting to be sober, probative and insightful.. We know from contemporaneous eyewitness reports that the Israel accounts of the raid were denied, uncorroborated by any credible evidence and available videos I recall seeing were compatible with eyewitness denials.
