The article asserts Geithner was central to the failure to regulate the financial industry. The failure to regulate is obvious. Operating in the middle of the Bush administration, it would be informative to know if other powers were working to prevent the regulation or whether indeed Geithner was a prime force in that failure.

Geithner should have tough questions put to him on this at confirmation hearings. The tax problems should be secondary.
