How does the Bush presidency rate?

I suppose the underlying question here is whether George W Bush has been one of the worst US presidents.
Many people have already made up their minds.
For them, the invasion of Iraq was enough to put Mr Bush high on the list. And that was compounded by his lack of action elsewhere - with global warming and Hurricane Katrina as examples.
Others will want to wait a bit and see what history decides. History can improve the image of a presidency. Full Story »

Interesting article giving perspective on historical judgements. Although I disagree with some of the choices, what the article shows is that history's judgement s are always in flux, depending on how the world sees things at the time--which is also in a constant state of flux.

This article gives a brief historical overview of US presidents who have been considered " some of the worst", and tries to compare and contrast Bush against them. Personally I find it a little superficial but at least the writer stays with facts and evidence and mostly shies away from overt partianship. The piece also includes a list from some historians of the 10 worst presidential decisions, which I found timely and interesting. Those are some of the reasons why I so strongly ... More »

Stupid beyond belief. The BBC should stick to covering their own politicians. Was their any world government worse than the British government from 1945 to Thatcher? Is there any royal more foolish royal than Prince Charles?
