Bush's Final F.U.

In its final days, the administration is rushing to implement a sweeping array of "midnight regulations" — de facto laws issued by the executive branch — designed to lock in Bush's legacy. Full Story »

Well, here we go again! I remember all too well the same sort of rundown at the end of Clinton's administration, though at that time it was the right doing the squawking. Perhaps it is inevitable that such summaries lack balance and have the depth of a seasonal spring. This article does serve a purpose in that it can be used as a template for future research, however it fails truly to inform the reader. Partisans on the left may cheer, however reporter Tim Dickinson is ... More »

I support the measure that would allow loaded firearms in national parks and favor several other measures that Rolling Stone reporter Dickinson ... More »

This article outlines the last minute lame duck regulations W. is going to leave us with. This topic has been covered elsewhere (WP here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/29/AR2008112901914.html ) but this article is certainly worth reading.

Excellent article which should be read by everyone who considers Bush some sort of friend of us Real Americans. The article is a comprehensive summary of the usual lineup special interest miscreants who are well-known thieves of America.

While Karl Rove is occupied rewriting history with his “walk-on-water” description of Bush’s “accomplishments”, this article makes mockery ... More »

I like how this is broken down item-by-item for President Bush's "scorched-earth" retreat in providing additional messes for Obama to clean up. I particularly found interesting the ironic twist as a way out provided by Newt Gingrich with the 1996 Congressional Review Act.

As if the Pres. -Elect doesn't have enough on his plate with the mortgage and auto industry crises--not to mention the Blagojevich mess to boot!

The article gathers the information on sundry neocon attacks upon people, civil rights, and the environment. The midnight rulemaking is claimed to exceed that of any other administration.

Impeach now.

While every modern president has implemented last-minute regulations, Bush is rolling them out at a record pace — nearly twice as many as Clinton, and five times more ... More »

I recommend it for someone who has been asleep for two weeks. It is a comprehensive list of facts that are not in dispute. In that regard only and despite the fact that everyone should know about this, I give it a good review. We should have another category in the quick review which rates timeliness, or for lack of a better word, scoopiness.

If this same story got front page exposure in all the newspapers and headline status on all the news channels, it would be remarkable, but one has ... More »

As usual Tim Dickinson and Rolling Stone have delivered. How Bush and his gang of thieves and rogues can get away with overriding rules and regulations that have been in effect for years in a last minute hail-marry pass is beyond belief. A great article and something that should leave a bad taste in all our mouths.

How Bush can be giving out talking points to his pinions about how great a president he was and what to fill his library of lies with and at the ... More »

No, this is journalism meant to insight people and reap profits for Rolling Stone. The divisive overtones of the article diminsih its quality.

The language in this article is extremely biased in a negative tone. While I tend to be politically aligned with the arguments made in favor of a ... More »

No. Too many loaded words and phrases. Facts left out that leave a more disastrous impression than is true.
