Very effective article on Pakistan's first major, though unconfirmed response to the Mumbai terror attacks. Pulls from a decent range of sources, although not all spoke directly to the Monitor.

Effectively unpacks the relationship between Lashkar, the Pakistani government, and global terrorism. Good sourcing, including RAND, Georgetown University, Reuters, the Wall Street Journal, and at least one two 'on the street' Pakistani sources.

Though I've been trying to keep up on this issue, I learned a lot from this story. A lot of good background and information. The one thing that would have improved it would have been some context on why the Pakistani military and intelligence service seems to be able to operate against the civilian government mandates.

A fascinating read that informs the reader that this is not your ordinary terrorist atrocity,

While India wants revenge, and with good reason, beware of the Pakistani Security Service. This could lead to another coup, and that ain't good.
