This is a very unusual situation for generally boring Canadian politics to present to the public. In my opinion, it is outrageous for the Prime Minister to prorogue Parliament strictly for the purpose of avoiding a vote of non-confidence by the house. I was quite surprised the our Governor General agreed to ascent to such a request. According to my understanding, Parliament should never be interfered with if it is for the purpose of protecting one particular party or government in power. This has indeed set bad precedent and will be discussed and debated for many years to come.
