Corn speaks frankly and realistically about the legislative problems of addressing problems in carbon emissions and global climate change. Big and bold is difficult in a triangulating bureaucratic environment where legislators are prisoners of their corporate donors in order to have enough money to effectively compete in election campaigns. They spend all day dialing for dollars and have difficulty studying and internalizing the big problems.
It's a good article, excellent subject, and very informative. But it's like an old movie i've seen a dozen times. But the plot does thicken.
This is a world-wide problem and until we treat it as such we'll run out of paper to write the bill's that are written to solve the problem.
Biased, yes. But I often end up appreciating Mother Jones' sharp tongue on stories like this. The analysis of policymaking was informative and effective for me. I can't, however, in good conscience give it too high of a recommendation for it's partisan outlook. Sourcing is pretty one-sided and some of the language risks alienating some readers, particularly on a topic as controversial as this.
Corn does a disservice to what could have been a great article by only using liberal sources. His blatant liberal bias gets in the way of a credible, useful analysis.
