Very fine exposure of deliberate effort, apparently, by major news organizations, to help G W Bush pretend he invaded Iraq because he was badly informed. In fact, the CIA knew Iraq posed no threat to the US, long before the invasion. The CIA also knew Iraq had no WMD.

Sargent accurately identifies the whitewash, and found dereliction of duty on the part of ABC, the Washington Post, AP, CNN, and the NYT in their failing to point out the self-serving Bush lie.

It's awfully short, but the message is conveyed. The truth, when supressed by the overwhelming weight of the MSM, sometimes must be condensed. When your wife is about to hit another car, you don't waste words, you just yell Stop! It's not just journalism, it's a rebuke of Big News Orgs, and well deserved.

This story earned a spot on Countdown, and a plug for TPM from Keith Olbermann.
