A few inconsistencies hinder what is otherwise a well-written piece. One problem is that the author mentions that "more mass job cuts loom worldwide," a seemingly-important ingredient to the story that isn't mentioned again. Another example is that the story begins with the doom and gloom of the global downturn, but mentions how well the United States has been doing lately before resuming its mourning of the global economy. Nonetheless, this is a well-researched piece, and it is written in a style that keeps the reader's attention.
