This story, as per Associated Press style, does a great job of getting the important detail and important sources to the reader as quickly as possible. Coleman gets quotes from varied sources, all important, and conveys the importance of the story by immediately highlighting the global significance of APEC. Because of its "here's what happened, here's what it means" approach, the article does not come off as being groundbreaking, opinionated or "courageous" in any way.
