This article is all good and well, just very LATE!!! By the time Clinton took his oath of office in 1992, all the facts were known--veterans were sick, and dying, by the thousands. Yet military leaders--who knew the most, especially about troop exposure to sarin gas after we bombed Saddam's weapons depot at Khamisayeh--were under strict gag order. Bringing to light the secrets of the first Bush administration has only taken 17 years in this case, much like the atomic veterans, hepatitis C victims and agent orange veterans. Only by contiueing to bring these horrors to the public can they ever be corrected and compensated for.
17 years later, and after about 6 years of study, the truth emerges. This is important news, told clearly.
Some stories demand a measure of finger-pointing. It's missing here, as if restraint meant fair and balanced.
