Russia has been undergoing a military rebuild for the last 10 years, there is a centuries old fear of Europe and more recently the US. The USSR believed the the star wars systems were offensive when they were first proposed and started planning their response under Reagan. The KGB has had a man at the head of state since the 1980s, the investment in state recontrol has been increasing, yet our current fearless leader saw into the spook's eyes and thought he could see his soul.
