Mormon Church feels the heat over Proposition 8
The church, which has long sought to be seen as part of America's mainstream, joins with other religious organizations to back California's ban on gay marriage. But now it has become a political target.

I think much of the bile is being hurled at the mormons because they make and easy target. They are suspect by many, distrusted and misunderstood. I feel their out of state fundraising for what is a California issue was out of line as was the Catholic church.
