Quite a bit of detail here. Some evidence given in pictures. Seems to be largely from first-person interviews of the detainees, but this is not made clear. Although there are some statements from the military, they do not seem to address all of the questions raised.

Excellent primary sourcing in this story of banal evil at Camp Cropper, a US detention facility in Iraq. This wrongly imprisoned whistleblower kept good contemporaneous records of his mistreatment, writing them in the margin of a Bible, among other places. The Times writer has turned this into a compelling and well-documented story.

This is an eye-opening story about the abuse of a whistle-blower detained for three months--it points out the partucular irony of a LOYAL AMERICAN being dsetain, ie, as opposed to a foreigner.

This is classic journalistic expose of a corrupt and arrogant government. It's the New York Times at its best. I would foresee the White House attempting retaliation against the Times.
