The concession formula is pretty simple: Accept tearful, painfully drawn-out applause; crack self-deprecating joke; congratulate opponent (and stanch booing that accompanies every mention of said opponent); pledge yourself to the cause of unity; and thank your family, your supporters, God, and the American people (though not necessarily in that order). A clever op-ed with good historical references. Not particularly crucial or informative, but entertaining and very well written.

Its both too soon and the only time this story can be written. Light-hearted, but also substantive and not unimportant, the author considers what McCain should say in his concession speech. A fun read for the presidential history junkie.
