Brilliant animated time map from the Economist, showing how news events have affected the electoral votes for Obama from June to October 2008. As the voice-over announces key news events, the states change colors in response, as the electoral map shifts from red to blue. This is an exceptionally effective and insightful way to show the evolution of this historic election, by making factual evidence come to life with visuals and thoughtful interpretation.
