Obama’s (Latest) Social Security Whopper
President Obama claimed that Republican leaders are pushing to make "privatizing Social Security a key part of their legislative agenda" should they regain control of the House and Senate. He said this is "right up there on their to-do list with repealing" parts of the new health care law.

I've always been a big fan of privatizing Social Security (SS). Pooring 12% of all earned income into our capital engine would be amazing. I wasn't a fan of Bush's plan. I would like to see people have the freedom to do what they want with their money. Unfortunately, I have to confess that the government forcing people to save money for retirement is necessary because the public is so irresponsible. However, forcing them to save money in an instrument that has historically given a 0.9% return doesn't seem to be a good long term plan. IMAGINE THAT! THE GOVERNMENT (Republican and Democrats) HAS NO LONG TERM VISION!! GASP, SHOCK, AND HORROR!
