For those who consider Pelosi and Reid to be backstepping and only moderately effective, the characterizations of them as liberal and highly partisan is a laugh when compared to their partisan Republican predecessors. Also, there is no mention of republican moves prior to 2006 to eliminate the filibuster.

The article needs an update, now that the jury has convicted Stevens.
