While a lot of stories about the presidential election are reporting on McCain's new fear tactics, this is the first I've seen that mentions that McCain's own party was in exactly the position he warns against for 6 years. So certainly the country should be familiar with the dangers! Another story I posted last night explored the various tensions within the Party, the relative weakness of both congressional leaders, and how that might affect an all-Democratic federal government. However, even Harry Reid doesn't expect to gain enough seats to prevent a filibuster. So this is fairly speculative at best.
