The fires in Moscow may give us a small fore-taste of something that we may see quite soon. The fires have reduced Moscow's wheat harvest by a third. Once she has take her own needs into account, her exports could be close to zero this year. Watch what happens to wheat and other food costs this winter. Imagine if we do get the oft predicted sudden climate change which not only disrupts the wheat crop but also the rice, barley and maize crops. The classic Asian famines will pale into insignificance. Watch China with her huge cash reserves corner the grain markets for her own people.
