Not exactly written for the average news consumer. Too much of this is lost on me. I understand the argument, but not well enough to judge how effective this piece really is.

Interesting insights from Sebastian Mallaby, a scholar at the Council on Foreign Relations, about the prospects for global cooperation in addressing the financial crisis. The author is skeptical that a new Bretton Woods conference would be useful, and recommends instead giving a stronger role to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). An op-ed by a noted economic expert and journalist. Interesting thoughts about how far global cooperation will go in fixing this current economic crisis. So much is still up in the air: will the U.S. and Europe's effort to bail out succeed? Who are the world economic superpowers now? No one has answers, it seems, even the experts.
