US Finds Most Oil From Spill Poses Little Additional Risk

The government is expected to announce on Wednesday that three-quarters of the oil from the Deepwater Horizon leak has already evaporated, dispersed, been captured or otherwise eliminated — and that much of the rest is so diluted that it does not seem to pose much additional risk of harm. Detailed report on the optimistic government study finding that much of the oil spilled in the Deepwater Horizon disaster has broken down. No other scientific perspectives are cited, and the author admittedly assumes "that the government's calculations [will] stand scrutiny." I give the author credit for point out that the agency publishing this report underestimated and downplayed the impact of the spill from the beginning.
