Background: the First Brigade of the Third Infantry Division, three to four thousand soldiers, has been deployed in the United States as of October 1. Their stated mission is the form of crowd control they practiced in Iraq, subduing "unruly individuals," and the management of a national emergency. This is the second time I've seen this story. The first was in The Military Times, another respected publication intended for our military forces. And this wouldn't be the first time soldiers were used against American civilians. Is the content accurate? Given the disdain Bush and Cheney have for Americans, probably yes.
