Republicans in Montana are challenging some 6,000 voter registrations. Why they are is not made clear. Is this Republican mischief to help insure Republican victories? Is there evidence of fraud? Follow-up stories are needed.

The caging actions of the Montana republicans is clearly described. The article forgoes calling it caging, and does not refer to the nationwide effort of Republicans to falsely make citizens think there is a big problem, and then use last minute overkill to try to prevent young and poor voters from being able to vote, or to have to work harder to vote. The specific likely effect of this on local and national elections is not mentioned.

Yes. Anyone living in suburban or rural Montana should be concerned with the matter at hand. If I were a student at the University of Montana I want to ensure that my vote is heard and if I were Native American I would be outraged that my community's voice may be silenced. The lack of emphasis on the loss of the Native American voice in this article keeps it from being excellent journalism.

This opinion piece has modest journalistic value. It is very poorly sourced. Only the representative of an advocacy group is quoted. Very little background is provided.
