The many lives of Arianna Huffington.

Although Huffington was known as a conservative for most of her life, the Huffington Post is a kind of liberal foil to the Drudge Report. According to Nielsen Online, in February it drew 3.7 million unique visitors, surpassing Drudge for the first time. Its advertisers have included Starbucks, Volkswagen, Home Depot, and the Times. I love this story, but admit that I am nuts about Arianna and boy has she changed since I first watched her on television. I think she was married to some rich Republican pervert back then. It just goes to show that even conservatives can get religion. I love the format of her site and happy it is doing well. I have never watched the Sludge report and never will. Had no idea how Arianna started out in life and she has really made it because of her intelligence and drive. As for the English creeps she had to put up with I'm not surprised at all about those types. Upper and middle class Englishmen are supercilious racists and sexists at the best and plenty of fascists in England too. Maybe it is all that inbreeding among the so called higher classes. As for the New Yorker, they are great, but they do some stupid things now and then. Their cartoon creators are some of the best in the business. Wish I had more time to read their magazine from cover to cover again.

I really like this site and Daily Kos and Buzzflash and dozens of others and I think they fill a great void on the Internet because the mass media is not to be trusted, especially the electronic media. Cable and the Networks are the pits and full of liars and prevavicators. Olbermann and Maddow and Jack Cafferty are mostly the only decent newscaters going. I never watch the networks, but think most of those people are in the mold of Tom Brokaw, a once decent man, but mostly pathetic now. He isn't alone and there are plenty of others, old and young who pander to their quasi fascists bosses.
