Excellent documentary from P.O.V. filmmaker Roger Weisberg on the current health care crisis. Through vivid case studies, the author exposes some of the flaws of our health care system, by showing how hard it is to get the most basic medical treatment if you don't have insurance. The program is factual and makes a compelling case about this serious crisis -- as one participant put it, 'we're the only industrial nation that has no universal health care.'

This compelling documentary tracks four of the many millions of uninsured in the U.S. The consequences of being uninsured are staggering -- to individuals, their families and society at large -- and this film so clearly shows this. It is in-depth, relevant and insightful. I highly recommend it for focusing on the real people that are affected, and who are often not mentioned in what can be a politicized, detached debate on what to do about health care coverage. Clearly, everyone must be provided health insurance coverage somehow; people are dying needlessly without it, and society as a whole is suffering because of this.

Exceptional and timely documentary following four individuals who face serious illness without health insurance in the U.S showing the horrible choices they have to make because of the lack of coverage. The film persuasively documents the dismal state of health care which comes down to as one family member said “No money. No cure. You die.” The viscous cycle of becoming ill, loosing your job then your health care, then the large bills, then loosing your residence was compassionately shown. With the economy being poor, expenses are increasing resulting in more people losing their health insurance. A great feature on the website is interactive feature that shows how Obama’s and McCain’s health care plan would have ... More »
