The debate did not change the essential truth of Ms. Palin’s candidacy: Mr. McCain made a wildly irresponsible choice that shattered the image he created for himself as the honest, seasoned, experienced man of principle and judgment. Basically gets to the essence of what most commentators are saying. I would have added that this debate re-created the contrast of the first presidential debate in that all-important aspect of tv debates, namely, body language and tone. Obama/Biden appeared presidential, knowledgeable, magnanimous, and reassuring. While McCain/Palin seemed tense, angry, petty, obtuse, and disturbing.
