The author cites two university studies and a CMU professor highlighting the ills of rural living. However, the author misses throwing income / class into the equation. It may have been more meaningful if Chapman had controlled for income in his comparison.

As a city dweller myself, this piece does resonate with me.

The author discovered a dark corner in the construction of current political-cultural interest and shines a bright light into it. The result is that everyone who reads it now knows what's in that corner without having to search it out.

This piece is well-written, and I agree with the points made, but clearly, this publication has an agenda and will publish stories that serve the agenda. Their credibility is what I question.
