FAIR takes a proactive approach in this news analysis, suggesting that readers and viewers ask Tom Brokaw to clarify what it means to "be careful" in criticizing John McCain. It's a worthy response to a questionable remark from one of the country's most recognized TV journalists. I read Brokaw's statements nearly certain that Tim Russert never would have told reporters to "be careful" criticizing or scrutinizing anyone in the public spotlight.

The FAIR monitoring of the corporate media finds a major commentator cautioning against any attack on McCain. This suggests his own viewpoint and a coloration of his own coverage of one candidate in the election, and the strong suggestion of media bias.
