Choice Of Biden Signals Vigorous Debate With GOP On Foreign Policy, But There Are Risks

He's extremely effective when he goes on the attack on foreign policy. Rather than whine about how mean Republicans are when they hit Dems on national security, as so many Dems do, Biden has a real talent for responding with an appropriate mixture of mockery and contempt. Full Story »

This story (including the previous one by same author) is not to be missed. Joe Biden is a superb choice as VP on the ticket because he had the confidence and the good sense to rip the Republicans for their grossly incompetent formulation and execution of US foreign policy, particularly in the Middle East. Biden shredded the rabid neocon Rudy Giuliani whose ignorance was quite simply breathtaking.

A rather superficial article which ends up turning its points around on itself. The article states that McCain will use Biden's foreign policy experience to show it's importance, and since McCain has already been designated as foreign policy expert in residence by the press, it supports McCain. The problem, of course, is that the media's neocon bias negates both their accuracy as well as their objectivity. Although the title implies there are risks, Biden's strengths far outweigh ... Biden when he goes into the arena, it is actually a well presented case of "on the other hand, what-if" scenarios pitting two masters (Biden-McCain) against each other, in their game political chess game. Accuracy??? Descriptions of their demeanors seem accurate...accuracy about results if/when ... More »

This seems the best choice from the short list Obama apparently had. Obama is thoughtful and deliberate and that is frustrating to many. He probably cannot change that. By pairing with Biden whose main fault is described as, "He talks too much," but speaks from knowledge and is sharp and quick and really does study issues and also has the experience that Obama does not, the Dems have a good and forceful ticket. Vigor matters.

Good but why do all the reporters and pundits keep referring to Obama's weaknesses especially in foreign affairs. Doesn't the qualities of an intelligent and reflective mind deserve more credit in its ability to make important decisions. This to me is more vital than someone who talks about experience. Actually neither candidate has had experience in being a president. That experience comes with having been in the position. The description of Biden by the media is offensive. He is ... More »
