Crimes and Misdemeanors

Slate - Jul. 24, 2008 (News Analysis)
Each scandal is represented by a colored circle that encompasses the people who are implicated. As it's easy to see, many of the players here are mixed up in two, three, or more of the alleged crimes. Hence all the overlapping circles (Venn-diagram heaven!).

Without such factual evidence to support it, this graphic has the potential of being misinterpreted. Just because it's presented visually, it doesn't mean that it's correct. Notes: An excellent use of diagramming to map out Bush Admin scandals. Lots of information with links, though no 'original' reporting.

Notes: Slate has made an interactive chart that helps the reader keep track of the players in some of the WH investigations including wiretapping, coercive interrogation, DOJ firings and hirings, and CIA Tapes. Click on wiretapping and it highlights the names of the individuals involved and additional information is available by clicking on their names. There are links to recent reputable sources documenting the involvement of the individuals in the different scandals. Useful summary that ... More »

Notes: An interesting way to present who's who in scandal land. I agree with the reviewer who suggested it would have been more effective to provide links to authority data even if much remains hidden. It's still problematic whether any prosecutions will ever take place. Everyone acts as if they've gotten away with it.

Notes: A novel approach (using a diagram of overlapping scandals) to present information about (some) the wrongdoings of the Bush administration.
