Kucinich Pushes on Impeachment

Congress has plenty of evidence that George W. Bush deserves impeachment for misleading the nation into war in Iraq, authorizing torture and other grave crimes, and violating the Constitution - and it is now time to act, says Rep. Dennis Kucinich. Full Story »

The story is factual and quotes statements Congressman Kucinich made when he introduced one article of impeachment as a point of privilege requiring the house to act within two days. Article reports on the response from Pelosi. There is no opinion provided in the article and reports the facts of an important event that occurred in the House. Statements from other leading members of the Senate that they would not support impeachment unless Bush invaded Iran were included. Rawstory ... More »

Basically a news story--it is informative, if you are unfamiliar with Kucinich's efforts toward impeachment.

When the worst president in history is self-admittedly guilty of high crimes, this sotry shows there are responsible representatives who wish to uphold the constitution and the rule of law. The big corporate press barely mentions impeachment actions, though it is clearly indicated and overdue.

Whether you agree with Kucinich or not, it is important that journalists analyze the question of what constitutes an impeachable offense. Is an impeachable offense simply what a majority of House members at the given moment consider it to be? That seems precisely what the founders were worried it might become and so some tried to keep Impeachment out of the Constitution. While the story reviewed here at least mentions the important fact that articles of impeachment have been ... More »

Good journalism...well, no I don't think so. I supported our invasion of Iraq for the purpose of removing Saddam Hussein--a monster we ourselves created in response to our desire to punish Iran. Saddam applauded the 9/11 attacks on America, and we knew he had access to biological and chemical weapons because we had provided him with same, though most stockpiles were apparently destroyed during the first Iraq war when we bombed the Kamisayeh weapons depot. The nuclear threat was ... More »

This article is straight news on an issue that has recieved very little attention from the media and it was good to finially see it. Impeachment appears to be a word only used by the media if it has to do with sex, so this article is a breath of freash air. The article briefly gave an overview of the efforts of Dennis Kucinich to do the duty that many more members of the Congress should be doing and that is to be the watchdosg rather than the lap dogs of the President.

This opinion piece has minimal journalistic merit. It consists almost entirely of quotes from a far-left member of Congress. There is no effort to provide balance or historical context. Mr Kucinish would of course have worked to impeach Lincoln, Wilson and FDR, though not Franklin Pierce, by far our worst president ever.
