Surely the perfect running mate exists. Colin Powell would work splendidly, but he hasn't even endorsed McCain, which should tell you plenty about the '08 political landscape. Failing all other choices, however, there's still one vetted Republican who would make McCain look youthful and vigorous.

This article makes me glad I'm not a Republican--and makes the VP field look pretty grim. Still, I thought his arguments were accurate and the piece itself--whether intentionally or not--was funny. The last line I'm pretty sure he meant to be funny.
This opinion piece has modest jpournalistic merit. The author seems unfamiliar with the Republican Party, as he only names persons who are known in the left-wing circles his paper consistently supports. Where, for example are two persons widely mentioned for the VP position, senator Hutchison and Governor Palin?
