Those seeking a tight summary of the utter idiocy of Bush administration policy toward Islamic militancy, and the total endorsement of such stupidity by John McCain, should read this article. I agree with the author that McCain is a fool if he actually believes that al-Qaeda poses a mortal threat to the US. The problem of Islamic radicalism has been exacerbated by the relentless squandering of blood and treasure in Iraq in an effort to refashion it into a docile client state of America, useful for "protecting" Israel.
