Despite the fact that defense attorneys for five suspected al Qaeda members being held at Guantanamo Bay have not yet received security clearances from the Pentagon that would allow them to participate in hearings, the Bush administration is aggressively pushing ahead with the prosecutions. The story reports accurately what is happening, but doesn't dig into the motives for it. That would require getting a response from the Pentagon to the allegation that the trials are being moved up for political purposes. To simply assume evil intent doesn't help the reader sort out the truth.
