There's very little information to go on here for someone not familiar with the story.

If the story is looked at as an introductory story only, it would be perfect. I think it introduces the topic very well. However in my mind the author could have taken it to a more global context. What does the ban of plastic bags mean for the world? Where does it go from here? That sort of thing. But otherwise it brings attention to the topic well.

I thought this was going to be an interesting story and it wasn't. It did not go into any detail about what effect banning plastic bags would have on the environment. Are they recommending paper? Will shoppers have to bring their own? What is the plan? Can plastic bags be recycled? Is that why they are banning them? There was very little information. When the bagger says "plastic or paper" I never know which is best....and after reading this I still don't know.
