Lots of supporting links. Well supported in general except for the last few paragraphs, as is often the case for opinion articles. Seems politically neutral. Analysis of other countries would have been good.

A good piece that analyzes the interconnections between big oil and US politics. the subject is put into historical context, and some discussion of future changes in the relationship is given. It would have been enhanced with additional perspectives, such as that of a politician who does take money from big oil.
