This is a good article that is very well sourced through links. In reading the links it appears that there could be could be some legitimate discussion of an exemption for some overseas contracts. But the fact that it has taken almost 6 months to get a White House response and the response was summarily dumping the exemption justifies the incredulous tone of the article.

A misunderstanding? Quel surprise! Why does this administration always come up with watered-down, intelligence-challenging B.S. when this administration gets caught with it’s hand in the till? I honestly think the one thing that surprised me here was that the AP 'broke the story'......do I see one little cahone here? two little cahones? Next thing the news reader knows there will be cahones everywhere!! Perhaps one day soon it will be raining subpoenas. Thanks to TPM for the must read.

Do we have to automatically mistrust government? What if it really was a mistake? Surely we can be vigilant without having to be so critical? I think we need a more civil relationship between citizens and government that allows for honest mistakes on both sides.
