This is good journalism. The situation (bailing Republicans) is described in concise, readable prose. I'm left with a clear (albeit depressing) understanding of the situation that's shaping up in the Senate over health care reform.

This an interesting story about change in Republican willingness to work on this issue. Politics is by definition the ability to comprise. Democrats have not done well on comprise and only a few Republicans have even tried.

Our political system is broke and certain print, television and web sources are part of the problem. It is Ok to disagree but hiding behind lies is an issue.

Feldmann makes an implicit assumption that the Republicans meant to cooperate on health care, rather than carrying a covert agenda of stalling any bill and eventually killing it. She treats the rowdy town-hall meetings as though they were grass roots, rather than the self-licking cone of the republican party recruiting rowdies, and then citing them as a reason to be obstructionists.
