This story uses a molehill--one parent's complaint about "An Inconvenient Truth" being shown in a middle school- to write about the mountain of climate change. The author would have been better off finding a different news peg--or else waiting for a real one to come along before writing. Still, the piece makes some good points, and includes one quote that is highly relevant: "It's very difficult to find materials on the other side of the debate that are science-based," Gentry said. ... The article reports one person's objection. The error of his arguments is not identified. The breadth of the problem is not documented. The political arguments against science are worrisome, and good for the media to keep in view.
