The decision to reject the offer, reported Saturday, signals that Yahoo's board is digging in for what could be a long battle. The issuse here is not just that the possible merger of Microsoft and Yahoo! may have anti-trust implications, but also that any merger between the big 3 (Microsoft, Yahoo!, Google) could have a significant impact on web search and search advertising markets.
