I found this story bone-chilling! If taken at face value, this should raise the extreme danger flag to every American citizen. Placed in the company of Blackwater, and companies of that ilk, we have existing in this country a trained, armed paramilitary force poised for.... what? in this piece is limited information, without much background detail, so more capable of fostering paranoia. it describes a program which would seem to be based on using the fears of our country being under attack. it would be important to have more information about the program described and more sources from the government as well as businesses involved to know how to respond to this.

One of my sources indicated the reason for the administration's insistence on phone company immunity is that the phone companies were deputized.
