On this subject in these times, it is hard to tell if pessimism is being realistic. His views do not appear in corporate media. Many of his portrayals of the current situation have some truth to them. His paths to restore power to the people either do not resonate as likely to be hugely successful in bringing improvement, or not likely to happen. The author does have very good job in parts such as "The biggest challenge for dissidents and rebels is to avoid feel-good therapeutic activism having virtually no chance of removing evil and tyranny. Idealism without practicality tactics without lofty goals, and symbolic protests pose no threat to power elites." But his solution #2 ignores those governments where NOT voting is a crime. Basically, it's an op-ed for his desire for a Constitutional convention.

I don't think evil is the right word to describe a political economic world order that must be changed to its root. Evil connotes a supernatural being in many people's minds, and too often the struggle against it involves attacking the individual human avatars of evil. Stating the facts in a clear and concise way - but i do not agree with his road map for change. the facts explain why the map for change appears to be out of price range for everyone except the top 1% of the wealthy but author is hopeful change can occur? Informative but I also dislike the word 'evil' to describe hoarding and manipulating of wealth - it is inherently arrogant and polarizing.
