Friends of the Earth Action believes nuclear power is no solution to global warming because it is more expensive and takes longer to deploy than alternatives like wind power and energy efficiency. The piece reports on the environmental group Friends of the Earth taking one particular issue of nuclear hazards of nuclear power plants and calling for candidates to follow Edwards' lead in opposing new nuclear plants. The issue oriented position is very seldom given any weight in the corporate controlled big press.
