The story reports the federal nuke corporate welfare provisions that were passed by congress, but conveys a vague and complex set of possible outcomes from the bill. Interesting questions are raised, but a crisper understanding of the reasons for the uncertainty in the outcome of the guarantees for nukes would help.

Obviously this is advocacy journalism. The big problem the greens have is that nuclear energy is the one economic and proven method of generating large quantities of energy without emissions of CO2. Some of the green organizations are moving toward endorsing nuclear energy for that reason.
