Empires Architecture

Panic shot through the State Department and White House earlier this summer when the American architecture firm Berger Devine Yaeger posted computer-generated images and layout of the forthcoming U.S. embassy in Baghdad on its website. Ostensibly concerned with security, government officials urgently acted to remove graphics to avoid aiding potential insurgents in their plots to disrupt the embassy's progress.

Though I remember reading substantially the same article sometime ago, I thought then as now the most important thing about this story is the duplicitousness it demonstrates about our government and both its political parties. Is this to bring democracy to Iraq or is it to steal oil in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East with all of the new military bases and airfields. Who decided to spend the money on this?
