One more reminder of how closely we are interlinked and how, because of this, we are ever more vulnerable to an interruption of our technical support systems. Imagine the results if the oft predicted sudden climate flip happened and disrupted the Northern Hemisphere wheat crop for even one year. Worse still, it would probably take a decade to get wheet production back up to anywhere near the present levels. If you are of a supersticious mind, you might say the volcano and the recent economic glitch have been sent to warn us.
