Biotech Firm, Govt. Hid Rice Contamination from Public

Last week, the US Department of Agriculture announced that US commercial long-grain rice supplies are contaminated with "trace amounts" of genetically engineered rice unapproved for human consumption.

Very carefully constructed article which leads the lay reader through the circumstances behind this disclosure, and its possible implications, step by step. As my fellow reviewer points out, Tady does not editorialize, and the language is almost entirely neutral---but supplies plenty of information for the reader to form an opinion. At least seven sources/groups are used for the short article, it is factual, without the reporter's opinion, indeed it is fact-laden with research into the history of the genetically engineered rice in question as well as a full review of currently available information.
