Scientists have traced the origin of eyes back to a transparent blob of living jelly floating in the sea about 600 million years ago.

This is basic reporting on a subject likely to stir further debate between creationists and scientists. More content on the reason this may be a monumental discovery would have been beneficial to those unfamiliar with the debate.

The only thing missing is commentary from the anti-evolution people. Maybe those weren't given a chance to comment, or maybe they are smart enough to ignore this story... but it would be nice to know.

Reports results of experiments that support evolution of complex organs (eyes) from simple cells. Well sourced and presented. but would have been stronger without the unneccesary editorializing against "inytelligent design".
